# Do we need to upgrade to handlebars@4.7.8 with ember@5.8.x upgrade? Currently, we are using handlebars@4.5.3

Do we need to upgrade to handlebars@4.7.8 with ember@5.8.x upgrade? Currently, we are using handlebars@4.5.3.

as a direct dependency? not needed, handlebars isn’t used.

handlebars _is_ used for some templating in ember-auto-import, and my projects report that 4.7.8 is what’s used already.

(in my biggest active project, it seems ember-auto-import is the _only_ user of `handlebars`)
