# \`{{template}}\` vs \`{{partial}}\`

In a Handlebars template, when would I use `{{template}}` and when `{{partial}}`? ([Ember.Handlebars.helpers reference](http://emberjs.com/api/classes/Ember.Handlebars.helpers.html))

As @wycats said in [issue #1930](https://github.com/emberjs/ember.js/issues/1930), `{{template}}` could be removed in favor of `{{partial}}`. Its not deprecated ATM, but it could be someday, so `{{partial}}` seems to be preferred.
