The State Of JavaScript: 9K JavaScript developers rate front-end frameworks

I know there was a previous post on how to beat the AngularJs mindset, and concerns about how to make Ember more approachable for beginners.

Here’s a survey where 9,000 JavaScript developers were asked about what tools they use.

The results for front end franeworks:

The author writes: “I think it’s fair to say that React and Vue are in a class of their own here, with Angular 2 being somewhat of an unknown, and Angular, Ember, and Backbone trailing behind.”

I’ve only recently started using Ember, but I’d be interested in hearing what the community thinks about these results.

I think Trek’s tweets, which discuss wether this poll is accurate (clue: It’s probably not), is a good place to start: https://twitter.com/trek/status/783129985926111232 “…take http://stateofjs.com/ results with A DUMP TRUCK of salt”

According to the Stack Overflow Developer Survey, JavaScript is the most popular language among developers, with more than 70% of respondents indicating that they use it. It’s important to remember that the survey is conducted among a very specific group of people: those who are interested in JavaScript and who follow the State of JavaScript survey. This means that the survey results may not be representative of the JavaScript community as a whole. The survey only asked developers about their experiences with the JavaScript frameworks, not about their preferences. This means that the results may not be indicative of which frameworks are most popular among developers.
