Today the Ember project is releasing version 3.20 of Ember.js, Ember Data, and Ember CLI. This release of Ember.js is an LTS (Long Term Support) candidate. LTS candidates prioritize stability over the addition of new features, and have an extended support schedule.
This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://emberjs.com/blog/2020/07/29/ember-3-20-released.html
I don’t understand when 3.20 will be promoted to LTS. LTS Candidate means that the current LTS version is still 3.16 right?
Correct. The current LTS is still 3.16.
The idea is to declare a given release an “LTS candidate” to indicate that it will become an LTS release. We then give it 6 weeks (a full minor release timeline) to stabilize before declaring it an LTS.
Soooo…
tldr; 3.20.x will become an LTS when 3.21 is released
