Front End Web Developer - Cambridge UK

We are looking for a front end web developer to join our young, friendly and enthusiastic team to help build our online platform for facilitating access to human genomics data for researchers. Think search and recommendation engine and collaboration tool centered around human genomic datasets.

This role would be perfect for an individual looking to challenge and further develop their web development skills while being exposed to the day-to-day operations of a fast growing startup. You will be responsible for the development of the front end JavaScript based application and will need to work closely with the current UX and back end developers.

You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact from the code and ideas you contribute. We are looking for a passionate individual motivated in working with open source tools and sharing our desire to make genomic data work for people.

You are

Skills

  • Proven commercial experience with front end web development.
  • Strong JavaScript, HTML5, CSS and Sass, Responsive web development ability and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with front end JavaScript framework (ember, react, angular) - preferably Ember.
  • Git and coding as part of an agile team.
  • Ability to understand the design components, to realise them and to communicate and work as a team with the back end developers.

Education and Qualifications

  • BSc degree in computing or other relevant subject and at least 3+ years industry experience or Masters or PhD computer science, mathematics and relevant industry experience.
